Another sailing season is quickly approaching and we can’t wait to get back out on the water!
The SBCSA provides summer sailing lessons to introduce newcomers to the sport of sailing and to provide training in basic sailing skills and safety on the water. Sailors with some previous experience who are looking to improve their skills are also welcome. Lessons consist of a combination of dockside instruction followed immediately by on-the-water practice. Only students sail the boats but the instructors are always nearby in outboard-powered safety boats.
Five levels of lessons are offered each season: Youth Introduction to Sail I & II, Intermediate Youth Sailing, Advanced Youth Sailing, and Adult Introduction to Sailing. Students must be at least 8 years old, able to swim 75 yards without a lifejacket, and be able to right a capsized boat.
We’re currently accepting registrations for all sailing lessons this season. Sessions begin on June 18. Click here to view the complete lesson schedule for 2018.
